Internationally rated local club tournament. You will need to be a Toowoomba Chess Club and Chess Association of Queensland member to participate.

When: Friday nights at the club – 28 March, 4 April and 11 April 2025. Doors open at 7pm.

Prize Pool (based on 40 entries): $450

  • 1st Place: $200
  • 2nd Place: $150
  • Best Female: $75

NB: Prizes will be allocated on count back.

  • Best Under 10
  • Best Under 12
  • Best Under 18

You must be a CAQ member to play – https://caq.org.au/membership-levels/

You must be a Toowoomba Chess Club member to play.

Format: 9 round FIDE rated tournament (3 rounds per night)

Time Control: 15 mins each plus 5 seconds per move for each game

Byes: 2 x half point byes allowed in rounds 1 to 7. Must notify IA David Esmonde via text message to 0422 331 312 before the start of the round you are requesting. You will get a reply to confirm receipt.

  • Parents welcome to stay and supervise their children. During game play parents need to ensure they don’t engage with their children.
  • Electronic devices must be turned off in the playing area.
  • Tournament Participation Rules can be found on the website which includes the responsibility and supervision of your children.
