Toowoomba District Secondary School Teams Chess Championship

Tournament Details
This event is open to all high schools in the Toowoomba District.
Event Times
Saturday 6th August – 1.30pm sharp to 5.00pm (Registration of teams by 1.15pm)
Sunday 7th of August – 12 noon to 4.00pm
Entry
$80 per team of 4
Deadline
Entries must be in by Wednesday 3 August 2022 at 5pm
Divisions
In the championship all teams will be competing in one (1) main draw but it will include two divisions:
- Open/all age division
- Junior division (Years 7 – 10)
Prizes
Each division will be competing for a perpetual trophy, which will be held by the winning team/school for one year.
Individual trophies (4 in total per division) will be given to the winning team from both divisions.
Also medallions (4 in total) are on offer to the best overall all-female team in the competition.
Team Requirements
- A team will consist of four (4) students (reserves are permitted) and each team will play numerous games on both afternoons.
- At least 1 supervisor per school is required each day.
- Combined homeschool teams are welcome to participate.

Teachers, please collect team names and details via the forms below and email to Sam (sam@toowoombachessclub.com.au) no later than 5pm on Wednesday 3 August 2022.
Qualification to State Finals
The top team/school of the local championship will also qualify to represent the region in the Queensland Interschool Teams State Finals later in the year.
School Requirements
- Each school needs to have at least one representative (e.g. teacher) from their school for the supervision and responsibility of their students.
- It is also recommended that students bring their own food each night as there will be no canteen at the chess tournament.
- The Toowoomba Chess Club will invoice the school after the tournament has ended.
Parents
Please arrange to let your child/ren’s school know of their registration and arrange payment to the school.
